Following the previous four-year initiative “Horizon Results Booster”, the European Commission has launched the new “Booster” program to integrate and expand existing support for applicants. This new initiative aims to help EU-funded researchers take their results to the next level, making them more usable and market-ready.
With this initiative, the Commission acknowledges the need to support researchers even in the post-project phase, ensuring that the work conducted during research is not limited to technical reports or academic publications but has a tangible impact.
Active until 2028, the European Commission's “Booster” represents a critical step in maximizing the value of public research funding by assisting researchers in transforming their results into practical solutions that can drive innovation and enhance EU competitiveness.
The new “Booster” initiative is designed to support all beneficiaries of the EU’s R&I Framework Programme, focusing specifically on the post-research phase.
Booster provides targeted coaching free of charge, assisting Horizon Europe participants in developing strategies, business plans, risk assessments, and more. Its key objectives include:
- Enhancing the impact of research results: The program aims to ensure that the outcomes of EU-funded research projects are fully utilized, generating social, economic, and environmental benefits instead of remaining unused.
- Facilitating the transition to the market: “Booster” helps researchers bridge the gap between research and its commercial or societal application, preparing results for adoption by businesses, investors, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Supporting dissemination and access: The initiative offers services to improve the visibility of research results and facilitate their adoption by potential users.
