Record number of organisations join EIT Higher Education Initiative
The EIT Higher Education Initiative’s Call for Proposals 2024 received 130 applications from 1480 organisations in 55 countries. Focused on innovation capacity and deep tech entrepreneurship, it attracted strong participation from HEIs, businesses, and NGOs. Selected projects will be announced in Spring 2025, continuing EIT’s impact on education and innovation. More information you can find on EIT website.

The PKH report highlights EIT's pivotal role in fostering innovation under Horizon Europe. Achieving the highest "leverage effect" among partnerships, EIT connects public and private investments, strengthens regional innovation through EIT RIS, and calls for better integration of EIT KICs in FP10 partnerships to maximize their impact. EIT Named Europe's Top Investor in Sifted 2024 Ranking
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has been recognized as the leading investor in Europe in the Sifted 2024 ranking, surpassing 49 prominent public and private investors, including venture capital funds and accelerators. This achievement underscores EIT's significant support for Europe's most promising startups, such as Orbem and Klimate, which have made substantial impacts in fields like poultry farming and carbon offsetting. EIT Expands Innovation Support to the Balkans and Israel
As of 1 January 2025, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Israel have joined the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS), supporting regions with lower innovation performance. EIT invested €17.2 million in the Balkans (2021–2023) and plans new Community Hubs in Albania, Serbia, and Bosnia. More information find on dedicated website.
