The NCP_WIDERA.NET project is inviting research organisations from Finland, Germany, Italy and Spain to organise three-day study visits, which will be supported financially by the project. In addition, experts can register with the wideraexperts.eu portal to support applicants from Widening countries. The experts will be financially compensated if they are chosen to work with applicants.
The NCP_WIDERA.NET project aims to strengthen the network of National Contact Points (NCP) for WIDERA within Horizon Europe and is part of an effort to expand participation in the European Research Area. In that regard NCP_WIDERA.NET shares similarities with the three NCP-network projects in Cluster 4, namely IDEAL-IST (Digitisation), NCP4Industry (Industry) and COSMOS4HE (Space).
As part of NCP_WIDERA.NET, leading international research organisations from Finland, Germany, Italy and Spain are invited to organise three-day study visits by researchers and research managers from Widening countries. Countries whose performance in Research and Innovation is below the EU average are considered Widening countries. According to Horizon Europe rules, the following are Widening countries:
- Member states: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia
- Associated countries to Horizon Europe: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, the Faroe Islands, Kosovo, Morocco, Moldovia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkiye, Tunisia, Ukraine
- Overseas countries and territories of Portugal, Spain and France
The research institutions will be reimbursed to a maximum of 4,000 € for personnel costs, catering, hospitality and material expenses. Further information is available here: https://www.ncpwideranet.eu/study-visits/
Additionally, experts can register with the wideraexperts.eu portal to support applicants from Widening countries. The platform provides an opportunity to connect applicants with experts to facilitate an increase in the quality of proposals.
Experts in the thematically relevant fields (Clusters in Pillar II of Horizon Europe, e.g. Cluster 4 (Digitisation, Industry and Space); Widening programmes; European Research Area; EIC Pathfinder) are highly sought after. After the completion of a profile and the match with a proposal, experts are eligible for financial compensation (600 € gross).
