The European Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation will host a virtual “2026 Clean Steel Roundtable Discussion on Research and Innovation Needs in Europe” on April 29, 2026, bringing together stakeholders from across the EU steel sector.
The event will focus on upcoming reforms to the Research Fund for Coal and Steel, set to take effect in 2027, while also addressing key research and innovation priorities amid economic and geopolitical pressures. Participants will discuss the current state of steel technologies in Europe and globally, alongside future needs for the industry.
The roundtable aims to strengthen collaboration, encourage dialogue, and improve transparency around EU-funded research programs.
Attendance is free, but registration is needed.
A Webex link will be shared the day before the event only with registered participants. Registration will close on Tuesday 28 April 2026 at noon.
