Mrs. Alessandra Colli, discussed the objectives and the research and innovation agenda of the Clean Steel Partnership.
Clean Steel Partnership is developed in the context of the European Union (EU) goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and to move towards a zero-pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment and circular economy. This policy entails two major challenges: on the one hand, climate change must be tackled, by reducing the amount of CO2 emissions; on the other, this must be done by ensuring that our society continues benefiting from sustainable growth
In the second part of the event, 3 successfull Clean Steel projects have been presented:
- CAESAR project "CirculArity Enhancements by Low quality Scrap Analysis and Refinement", by Jean Christophe Pellettier, CRM Group
- HIYIELD project "Highly efficient technologies for increased yields in steelmaking processes and reduced environmental impact", by Björn Glaser, KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- MODIPLANT project "Modular hybrid technology in the Steel plant production", by Matteo Gili, RINA Consulting - CSM S.p.A.
